(berbanding 4 billion). Ia adalah kurang dari 1%. Jika anda jual sebuah rumah sekalipun, jual hartanah, jual tanah atau anda menjadi broker sebuah perjanjian komersial, anda akan mengambil pulangan minumum 3-5%. Jadi mengapa 42 juta? Ia tidak capai pun 1%. Kenapa 42 juta? Kenapa dia kata dia mahu 42 juta? Ini gagal dijawab oleh pihak pendakwaan sungguhpun kita telah bangkitkan. Dan memikirkan bahawa ia diterima 3 tahun kem

Historians to be roped in for comic book probe

Historians will be roped in to assist in investigations into the controversial comic book on China’s Belt and Road Initiative, says Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Huzir Mohamed. “Several historical experts have been identified. We will get their advice to check the facts published in the comic book. “We will also check with the Home Ministry whether the publisher obtained the relevant permits to publish the comic,” he told a press conference in Bukit Aman yesterday. So far, 46 police reports had been lodged in connection with the 164-page comic book, he added. “We have also recorded several statements from various people, including the comic book artist, the publisher as well as Hew Kuan Yau. “On Oct 21, we also visited the factory in Shah Alam which printed the comic book,” he said. Investigators were also checking with the National Library whether the comic book was issued with an International Standard Book Number (ISBN), he said. The case is classified under Secti

Wee: Whole comic book controversy is ‘comical’

Dr Wee urged Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Abdullah and Special Envoy to China Tan Kok Wai to provide an explanation. “Surely, Tan will know the circumstances well, he should not merely keep silent, ” he said. Tan is also DAP MP for Cheras and had appointed Hew Kuan Yau, the author of the comic book, the chief executive officer of the Malaysia-China Business Council. Hew, who is popularly known as Superman Hee, is closely linked to the DAP, and is curator of the Penang-based Asia Comics and Cultural Museum. Dr Wee said it was impossible for Tan not to know the contents of the comic, adding that the foreword was written by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng. The Home Ministry banned the comic book “Belt and Road Initiative for Win-Winism”, saying it promoted communism and socialism ideologies, among other things. It also said that publication seemed to have not taken into account the sensitivities of a multi-racial and multi-religious Malaysia. “This whole episode has made

Dr Mahathir: Comic book withdrawn to check spread of foreign ideology

The government has stopped the distribution of a comic book entitled Belt and Road Initiative for Win Winism in schools because it does not want Malaysian youths to be influenced by a foreign ideology, said Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad. “We do not want our people to think that after being influenced by the West before, we have now become influenced by China. “I believe that China will have a great influence over the whole world in the future but, for the moment, it is not for us to promote Chinese ideas and ideology,” the prime minister said during the question-and-answer session at the ISIS Malaysia Praxis Conference here yesterday. Asked to comment on the distribution of the comic in secondary and vernacular schools, Dr Mahathir replied that it is not good to influence the minds of Malaysian youths. “The young people must understand the problems, strategies and the policies of their own country first so that when they come up against other people, they know their pla

‘Comic book was never approved for schools’

Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik (pic) of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia has called on DAP to instil some discipline in its members. “I would like to advise any DAP members who are not satisfied with the Federal Government’s decision to respect the rule of law and the concept of collective responsibility. “I also urge the DAP leadership to discipline its members so that they will learn to respect the government’s decision as well as obey the country’s Constitution and law. “These are the two things that form the construct of our nation,” said Maszlee in a scathing post on his Facebook page yesterday. Apart from singling out DAP’s Ronnie Liu over the latter’s criticism of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Bersatu, Maszlee also referred to the controversial Belt and Road Initiative for Win Winism comic book created by Hew Kuan Yau and local artist Chong Po Ling. Calling the publication a “political propaganda”, the minister stressed that there had never been any approval

Belt & Road comic banned

Propaganda DAP ke sekolah The government has banned the Belt & Road Initiative For Win-Winism comic book. The Home Ministry gazetted a prohibition order on the comic book, saying that the publication was found to have content that may “endanger public order and security” and also “distort the mind of the public”. The prohibition order gazette under Section 7(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 specifies that “the printing, importation, reproduction, publication, sale, production, circulation, distribution or possession of the publication is strictly prohibited in Malaysia”. “The content of this publication promotes the ideology of communism and socialism, the spread of false and confusing facts on communists, and invokes support and sympathy towards the communism cause. “It could also raise doubts among readers, especially the younger generation towards the history of Malaysia, which proceeds to question the efforts of former leaders who fought for the country
